Belinda Fisher Sollie has strong ties to the CHA community as both of her children are alumni. Belinda, however, is a proud REBUL Raider who grew up in this area. She attended Hinds Community College and then finished up her Bachelor's Degree at USM. Her husband Stan is a retired Air Force Officer and they have lived in Sacramento, CA; Shreveport, LA; Cabot, AR; Pensacola, FL; Seoul, South Korea; and Tampa, FL. "My husband, Stan, works at M&P Bank as the Compliance Officer and he does IT for them. Our daughter, Kacey (class of 2011) is a Supervisor with USDA in Hattiesburg. Our son Mason (class of 2015) lives local and does real estate. His wife, our daughter-in-law, Morgan, is a nurse and has returned to school to become a CRNA. I love, love, love my family!" Looking back on her 29 year career with Social Security she says "I knew my path would be different since I was married to a military officer and I knew we would move around a lot. My kids were my focus when they were small, so my career really didn't matter to me. But, I still had a rewarding career. And, looking back, I would not change a thing!" After retirement Belinda was looking for something fun to do with her time. This led her back to Central Hinds where she is currently our Business Manager and an assistant coach to the track team. When asked about her favorite responsibilities at CHA she says, I love working with the kids and getting to know them. My goal is to make an impact and let them know that I love them." Working at Central Hinds means a lot to Belinda. he says "All of the staff here is easy to work with. Several of them I grew up with so it's been nice to work with some of my "sisters" (Mrs. Carlin and Mrs. Cheryl). Mrs. Nix is awesome too! Really everyone!! We truly are like a family and I love that! I have enjoyed my time here. There have been some times that could be somewhat overwhelming (it's a busy place), but endurance and patience have pulled me through. I always want to remember to keep the main thing the main thing. And the main thing here is that we are here for the KIDS!" Belinda is one of the reason it is always "a good day to learn" at CHA. We are so blessed to have Mrs. Belinda as part of our staff at Central Hinds Academy. Please be in prayer for her as she works diligently to make our school better.
