Our elementary teachers helped kick off our new Fruits of the Spirit emphasis with matching t-shirts highlighting each grade's focus: K3-watermelons for love, K4-lemons for joy, K5-apples for peace, 1st-strawberries for patience , 2nd grapes for self-control, 3rd-bananas for goodness/generosity, 4th-pear for faithfulness, 5th-peach for kindness , and 6th-lime for gentleness. Our emphasis is based on Galatians 5:22. "For the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, and patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

Staff Spotlight: Belinda Sollie, Business Manager. Mrs. Belinda has been part of our school for many years as a patron and volunteer coming on staff about 5 years ago. . She is one of the faces that welcomes you into the office as soon as you enter campus. When she isn't at a CHA sporting event she can be found at FBC Raymond or with her dog Chief. Staff Spotlight: Staci Evans, Office and Administrative Secretary. Mrs. Staci has been part of our school for several years as a patron coming on staff last year when she taught 8th grade keyboarding and was a staff floater. She will be the new face of the office at CHA as we head into the 2024-2025 school year. When she isn't at her daughters' sporting events she can be found at Pinelake Church or at home with her dog Tanner and her cats Koda, Krazy, and Luna. Staff Spotlight: Melissa Nix, Principal. Melissa has been part of our school for 10 years. She has been a teacher and is now in admin as our principal. Her favorite color is orange and other than the cougars she is a big fan of the LSU tigers. In her time off she is most likely going to be found curled up with a good book. She also collects turtles and loves her German shepherd Max and kitten Flash. Central Hinds Academy is proud of the staff we have as part of our Cougar Community. Welcome to the Cougar Family!

Here are our summer hours of operation beginning today.

The face of the office at Central Hinds Academy will be changing. After 10 years of excellent service to our school, Amber Lloyd will be leaving her position behind the front desk. We will miss her lovely smile and the positive energy she brought to our campus. She made our teachers' jobs easier and provided assistance to our families every day. We wish her good luck as she seeks the Lord's plan for the next steps in her journey and we hope she won't be a stranger! Thank you for everything Mrs. Amber and you will be missed!

Central Hinds Academy would like to announce the Teachers of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year as voted on by the current Cougar faculty. Elementary Teacher of the Year is Monty "Mister" Williamson and Secondary Teacher of the Year is Renee Smith. Congratulations to these two very deserving educators.
